By car
2: Public parking garage “Uni-Kliniken”
Leave the A73 motorway coming from Bamberg at the exit “Erlangen-Nord / Erlangen-Dechsendorf.” After about 300 meters, turn left onto Dechsendorfer Straße. Follow the road – it changes name to Pfarrstraße and Neue Straße – for about one kilometer. Then turn left onto Harfenstraße. The Max-Planck-Zentrum für Physik und Medizin is located at the very end of the street, at a turning circle. Please ring the bell at the gate to alert our front office staff to your arrival.
Coming from Nuremberg, take exit 31 “Erlangen-Nord” off the A73. Then turn left onto Baiersdorfer Straße and then right onto Bayreuther Straße. After about 800 meters, at the first large intersection after the bridge over the Schwabach, turn left onto Wöhrstraße. At the end of the street, turn left again. The Max-Planck-Zentrum für Physik und Medizin is located at the end of the street, at a turning circle. Please ring the bell at the gate to alert our front office staff to your arrival.

By bus from Erlangen’s central train station
- Bus 290 (direction Waldkrankenhaus) until stop “Martin-Luther-Platz” (9 min walk) or “Schwabachanlage” (4 min walk)
- Bus 299 (direction Erlangen Busbahnhof) until stop “Martin-Luther-Platz” (9 min walk) or “Hindenburgstraße” (7 min walk) (free use at the moment)
- Bus 253 (direction Bruckwiesen, Bubenreuth) or 289 (direction Waldkrankenhaus) until stop “Martin-Luther-Platz” (9 min walk) or “Haagstraße” (8 min walk)

By train
Erlangen Central Station is located approximately two kilometers from the MPZPM. Erlangen is a stop for ICE (Intercity Express), IC (Intercity), RE (Regional Express), and S-Bahn trains.
By airplane
If at all possible, it is best to fly directly to Nuremberg Airport and then get to MPZPM via public transportation. Nuremberg Airport is located to the north of the city, about six kilometers from the city center. The U2 subway line provides direct access from the airport to Nuremberg Central Station. From there, it takes about 20 minutes by train to Erlangen.
The distance from Nuremberg Airport to the city center of Erlangen is approximately 15 km. Taxis are available at the airport.
